The 48-year-old actress and her husband, 45, split 'a couple of months ago', according to US Weekly.
The announcement comes less than two months after Brolin was arrested for public intoxication on New Year's Eve.

The representative suggested the pair remain friends.
'It was a mutual decision. It is very amicable. It's not ugly, it's just over,' the statement continued.
Brolin and Lane married in August 2004. They do not share any children.
The revelation came after Brolin praised his wife in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.
'She's a very strong woman, extremely strong,' he said.
Going solo: Brolin, on January 9, 2013, stepped
out solo for an appearance on David Letterman, while Lane, four days
earlier, was at the Palm Springs International Film Festival
And Brolin opened up about their marriage.'We're not really in the spotlight,' he said. 'I mean, we are in times like this [interview], but, you know, there's one light. We just do our own thing, and we always have.
'And we're not in LA all the time, we're up north a lot of the time where I grew up, so, you know, you just do what you do. You don't play up into the hype so much.'
Lane ended her six-year marriage to actor Christopher Lambert in 1994.
Brolin was married to actress Alice Adair during that same period. The former couple share two children, ages 18 and 24.
The actor made headlines last month after police confirmed he was arrested shortly before midnight in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve.

It was not the actor's first run-in with the law.
Brolin was arrested in 2004 on a misdemeanour charge of domestic battery after Lane called police during an altercation. She later declined to press charges.
In 2008, he was arrested, along with actor Jeffrey Wright and five other crew members of the movie W, after an altercation at the Stray Cat Bar in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Charges against all seven men were later dropped by Shreveport prosecutors.
